Rating Hider Privacy Policy

Effective October 14, 2026

Rating Hider is a Safari extension, with a companion app for iPhone, iPad and Mac, that hides player ratings on chess.com. This policy explains what it does and does not do with your information. The short version: it collects nothing.

Information we collect

None. Rating Hider does not collect, store, transmit, sell or share any personal information or usage data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

How the extension works

• The extension only runs on pages at chess.com, and only after you allow it in Safari.
• On those pages, it hides elements that show ratings. All of this happens locally inside Safari on your device.
• It does not read, record or send anything from the pages you visit, and it makes no network requests of its own.
• The companion app only shows instructions for turning the extension on. It does not collect any information either.

Third parties

Rating Hider does not share information with anyone because it has none to share. Your use of chess.com itself is covered by chess.com's own privacy policy. Rating Hider is not affiliated with or endorsed by Chess.com.

Children's privacy

Because Rating Hider collects no information from anyone, it collects none from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
